I have had expended family up the ying yang for ten days, and on and off all summer. Enough already. Back to reality.
Along the way, I need to clean out my belief system. The range of possible choices is limited by our belief system, which is to some extent, is set by our ideology of origin, and is then modified by our lives. For example, if our belief system says: it is wrong to eat between meals; the idea of eating between meals is placed off limits, aka just not acceptable, and we are not likely to eat. Same with "not considering acellular carbohydrates as food"; there is less temptation to eat them, until some "grannie food pusher, aka temptress" comes along.
Eve and original sin is a concept, but the original evil is producing and pushing acellular carbohydrate as food. Anyone in a idology gives up free will, so why not use that to our advantage. It is just wrong to eat acellular carbohydrate, it is evil to offer it, to push its use, and the like. The whole concept of sin, aka, not adhering to arbitrary rule, in itself suspect. If the rule has a known purpose, perhaps it is ok. But then abstinence is a arbitrary rule to reduce or eliminate craving for some foods, and when I slip, the cravings come back severely, so there is a arbitrary rule with a purpose.
Emotional growth is the process of letting go of negative emotions and cling more strongly to positive emotions, that is positive for my life, not necessarily positive for other's lives. You may not like what I say but Oh well. One of the process of change is venting or dramatic relief. But change is made difficult by the continual temptations of food pushers. Until we, as a society, or as a subset of society, over come this, the obesity problem will continue.
I practice Stoic Emotional Regulation and philosophy, No Fructose, grains, omega 6 oils. This blog is intended to help people (including myself) living with untreatable polyphagia (overeating) to understand and overcome this condition.

Exploring the Self's Mind
When we start to explore our own mind, what do we have for reference? It is my first time through such a process. I do not know what these things are. I have no words to describe and name these things. These ideas, concepts, hypothesis, and very real emotions, which must be bases on some implied memory seem detached. Integration of the implied memory into the recall memory, and replacing imprinted reactions, actions with thought out actions creates some interesting possibilities.
One of the physiological effects of peyote is an increased breathing rate and increasing heart rate. Is that all the effect of over oxidation of the brain? We can introduce a pure over oxidation of the brain by consciously connected breathing or essentially over breathing intentionally, and the effect is similar, without the initial nausea, and hallucination, according to some. Could under oxidization of our brains be the cause of the obesity epidemic?
When I was a young adult gaffer, and showed up to work hung over, the old foreman/welder would offer us a whiff of oxygen. It sure cleared up the mind and gave us energy. Could it be as John E Sarno, MD suggests, that pain is often shortage of oxygen?

Suppression of Authenticity
Gabor Mate....
Suppression of authenticity is a concept that society, life, has forced our authentic self out and replaced it with our "second nature", with is not the true essence of self. What a mouth full.
Modern society promotes money and wealth as being the marker of success. Greed, lust, sex, gouging, theft, abusing others, fraud without getting caught, even crime, are promoted as markers of success. This is a spirit draining life.
To reestablish a essence of person, we need to develop loving kindness of self, a compassion for self, an inner joy, equanimity. Sounds like serenity.
We have implicit memory, which are not the memories, but trigger something from our youth or past. When we react to something, it can be the imprinted reaction that we learned. This is the Rosetta Stone of our emotions.
To get at the source, we need to list what happened, the emotion, our interpretation,
what the implicit memory is or might be and the imprinted reaction.
Sounds like step four to me.

brain not functioning vs stupid mistake
We need vitamins and minerals for the brain to function well. We can still make stupid mistakes. I step in front of a compulsive/addict "in her pot". I do regret that. I am truly sorry for the misery I cause her. I also regret trying to suggest she was out to lunch. Oh well, shit happens. Lesson for me: avoid train wrecks running on their own tracks, let them wreck and stay out of the way.
Reflecting on this, I often learn more from those who I do not agree with than those I agree with.
We need very little carbohydrate, adequate protein, and some essential fats. The remainder can come from either fat or carbohydrates. Dense carbohydrates come with cravings, insulin resistant, appetite stimulation, and quick hunger. When we do not get enough various minerals and vitamins, we get ragged many ways, our mind get off also. I expect in time, we will find most "diseases of civilization" have nutrition displacement as some of the core issue. Also expect that some of us have underlying physiological and social problems. Oh well, we all must play the hand we were dealt, in the time frame permitted. It is the first time through life for us all.

Good diet is a learned, both information and behavior. Social behavior, in fact all behaviors, information and the like is learned. We learn different things at different speeds. Some of us never or only late in life learn some things. Oh, well, that life as a human. What we actually learn from presented material, or situation can vary widely, and may not be the intended lesson.
